Meet the Team

  • Brian O'Connell

    FOUNDER

Inspired from an early age by the rich musical tradition of his native Ireland, Brian fell in love with drumming and percussion. Playing in bands in Ireland and around the world, he experienced the power of music to bring divided communities together. As a member of Peacechild, a touring show of young entertainers, Brian helped bring together Catholics and Protestants through music.

An avid surfer, Brian’s search for the “perfect wave” has led him to remote communities with desperate needs. One young Indonesian boy passionate about surfing inspired Brian to mentor him. Brian paid for Oney Anwar and his brother Gazlin to travel to and enter their first surfing contest in Bali. He also helped Oney connect with Ripcurl. Their sponsorship was an essential step to achieving his dream of becoming a professional surfer, as documented in the film Oney Anwar: Chasing the Dream.
